    Description: Pursuant to the Pavement Management Program, Seal Beach Boulevard, between Westminster Avenue and North Gate Road, was selected for resurfacing as part of Public Work’s Arterial Resurfacing Program.

  • ST1811 Lampson Avenue Bike Trail Gap Closure

    Description: The Lampson Avenue Bike Trail Gap Closure project addressed a missing segment of Class II bike lanes between Basswood Street and Seal Beach Boulevard. By installing bike lanes on both sides of this stretch, the project closed the gap and created a continuous bike route between Valley View Street and Seal Beach Boulevard.

    Description: The North Seal Beach Community Center project delivered a comprehensive renovation to enhance accessibility, functionality, and sustainability. Improvements included energy-efficient interior and exterior lighting, a reconfigured kitchen for senior meal programs, upgraded dual-pane exterior doors to expand usable space, restroom rehabilitation with low-flow fixtures, and multiple ADA-compliant enhancements. ADA upgrades included improved wheelchair access at drinking fountains, replacement of sliding doors to remove trip hazards, and entryway modifications for safer access.

    Description: As part of the City’s roadway preservation efforts, selected streets identified in the 2022 Pavement Management Program received a Rubberized Emulsion Aggregate Slurry (REAS) seal coating. This treatment enhances pavement durability and extends roadway lifespan.

  • PR2203/O-PR-1 - Heather Park Play Area Improvement Project

    Description: The Project enhanced one of the City’s most cherished neighborhood parks. Guided by the City’s Park Master Plan and community input, the project included a new inclusive playground for ages 2–12, poured-in-place rubber surfacing, free-standing play equipment, a shade structure with bench seating, outdoor exercise equipment, and relocated centennial bricks. Additional improvements include upgraded irrigation and new sidewalk connections for better accessibility. The project was delivered through a Design-Build Agreement with KYA Services, LLC, approved by the City Council on February 26, 2024.

    Description: The Pier Concrete Abutment serves as the primary access point to the Seal Beach Pier and adjacent beach and park areas. Due to age, heavy use, and the corrosive marine environment, the structure had shown signs of cracking, concrete spalling, and steel deterioration. The project included deck waterproofing, abutment painting, installation of four new doors, and restoration of concrete and railings to extend the structure’s lifespan and maintain safe access to the Pier.

    Description: Serving visitors to the beach and nearby park areas, the Seal Beach Pier public restrooms underwent upgrades to address aging infrastructure and the impacts of the marine environment with high use traffic. Improvements included electrical and plumbing repairs, concrete floor resurfacing and sealing, new sturdy toilet partitions and fixtures selected for extensive use, HVAC grille replacements, floor drain renovations, and application of an anti-graffiti coating.
